ELVA VECKOR I DEN SVENSKA NATUREN
It’s eleven weeks ago already that we moved to Sweden with our four-legged friends. It seems like a long time, but on the other hand it’s only the beginning. We’re still in the process of getting all the paperwork done, something that asks for some (or a lot of!) patience. Those of you who know me a little bit better, know that this is really hard on me ;-)
Six weeks after our arrival, we received our Swedish personal number, the beginning of everything! There’s nothing you can do or get in Sweden without this number. No bank account, no insurances, no subscription to WiFi nor mobile phone account, you’re not even able to get access to a self-scan system at the grocery store… Frustrating sometimes!
Upon receival of our personal number, we were able to apply for our Swedish e-ID, which will be ready by next week. Next step: get a bank account. Then apply for a Swedish driver’s license to be able to register our cars and bikes in Sweden. But enough about the “paper troubles”.
The gang!
Dear George!
A few weeks ago, George, Caro and Kerlijn joined us for a few days. We enjoyed their company a lot and shared some nice moments together. Later that week I was able to witness the aurora borealis or northern lights right in front of our house, a dream come true! I didn’t expect to see it before winter.

Meanwhile, I also started puppy training with Luka to be able to socialize him with other dogs and situations. As I don’t speak Swedish yet, it’s a little hard to understand everything, but the most important thing is to be able to work together. As he’s the youngest of the group, his attention span is rather limited – or is it maybe just Toller related? ;-) Anyway, we’re making progress, although there’s a lot more to learn!
As Luka is also still too young to join us on longer walks, we bought a K9 Sport Sack backpack to be able to take him with us. He accepts it very well and enjoys the walks. Luka learned to swim early on together with daddy Rusty and is a pro already!

Swim Luka, swim!
As we had some nice warm weather during the month of May, we were able to enjoy an “Ofyr party” with Merel and Kris, colleagues living in Sweden for a longer time already. They shared a lot of information about everything that needed to be done and organized before and after moving. Thanks a lot to both of you! Moving would’ve been even harder without you.
This last week has also been a busy one, but more about that later on!
