ETT ÅR I SVERIGE…
Today we’ve reached the one-year mark from our move to Sweden. We started our adventure on March 24th, 2024. Slowly but steadily, we got more integrated: we have our Swedish “personal number”, Swedish license plates for cars and motorbikes, a Swedish mobile number (on top of our Belgium mobile numbers that we kept), and we bought our Swedish “cabin in the woods”.
Ready to go March 24th, 2024, without our dearest Anne unfortunately…
From this…
… to this in March 2025!
So, after one year, we’ve lived the four seasons in Sweden. Sometimes in one week… Spring, summer and autumn were described in our former blogs. We were very curious about winter in southern Sweden. The winter started slowly with lots of rain in December. Luckily, we got some snow on and off in January and February, which the Tollers liked a lot (and me too). In February we could even “walk on water”, well, I mean on the frozen lakes! Absolutely wonderful!

We already mentioned the rainy month of December, but luckily our personal ray of sunshine visited us around Christmas. Our dearest Anne joined us again for the holidays. We just love love love to have her around! ❤

After the holidays we started packing for yet another move: this time only 25 km from Ödenas to Morjhult, instead of 1400 km last year! Luckily good things come in pairs, so again we could count on the invaluable help from Georges and Jean Paul to help us. On January 20th, the move itself went very smoothly. Unpacking took a little longer. 😉 We also had a few days of quality time with this golden duo.
Winter time…
Stopping the Russians at the border. 😉 🤣
Since we now have a full-fledged guest room, we could (re)open our “bed & breakfast”. Our first guests were Heidi and Frank. We already had the pleasure of their company in the rental house, but now we could accommodate them properly. During their stay they could enjoy two seasons in one week: bright sunny weather and snow. We enjoyed one of those sunny days at beautiful Smögen, Sweden's most visited boardwalk.

The fab four! ❤

Winter wonderland ❄️ ☃️
Two weeks later, one of my former colleagues Karen and her partner Laurens joined us. At the time they arrived we already had a week of freezing cold temperatures (down to -15°C) so we could “walk on water”. We also showed them around our favorite island Marstrand. Beautiful over and over again…
Cold sunny weather and good company, what else could one wish for?
Walk on water… or rather ice! ⛸ ❄️
The last visit for now, was Alex’ colleague and friend Nele and her son Lucas. Guess what… they visited Marstrand again. Did we already mention this is our favorite island? 🤣 Lucas especially enjoyed the food in Sweden!

And finally, after almost one year, I (Valérie) went back to Belgium to visit dear family and friends I missed for far too long, enjoy Oscar and the Wolf’s magnificent concert, and do what I love to do: check furry friends’ hearts at DAC Eversbos.
It was SOOOO GOOD to be back "home", to feel the love, to share some great moments and make new memories. Thank you all for your time and hospitality. Also, thank you to all owners for trusting me again for the heart screenings, from the tiniest kitty to the biggest beauties! It felt like a warm blanket to be back... 🥰
Oscar and the Wolf… you were amazing! 🥰
Just a few of the cuties who visited me. ❤
Bye bye Belgium. I’ll be back… ❤
Sweden welcomed me back with amazing nothern lights. 🥰
